Reflection

I had alot of fun with my friend during the trips to
Labrador and Pasir Ris park.
The sea creatures is very bittle and fragile we might kill
or hurt it when we pick it up .
We must protect these sea creature as the animals we see
today might not appear in the future .

Reflection

Nicolette here!
  This is my message.
Its such a privilege to be able to go to the two seashores as part of
our project. We had a chance to touch and feel the textures of various
creatures. For many of us,we go to the beach to have a picnic and do not
realise how our activities affect the creatures living there. After
going through his programme,I believe many of us have developed an
awareness for our surroundings. We think twice before disposing any litter on
the beach and throw it into the bins provided. The instructors proved to
have great knowledge of the seashores and have imparted that knowledge
to us.I sure did have a fun time and I hope you guys did too!

The two seashores--Labrador and Pasir Ris

During this two fieldtrips to the seashores,i have learnt a lot of things like identifying the marine animals,...
knowing how to help these innocent marine animals by telling people not to litter.
I also learn that most marine animals live underside of the rock.
Together with some of my classmates,we collected the marine litters and the most litter collected in Labrador is glass,
while the most litter collected in Pasir Ris is batteries, and followed by plastic bags.
I think all this litters collected at the seashores are left behind by people who drink beer, take photos and eat crackers.
I am very greatful to our instructors ms Grace and Ooyee who had taught us a lot of things that we never experience and thought of before.
Nevertheless,I also want to thanks ms Lo who had been following us to the seashores and correcting our behaviour by scolding us...haha...
Wish to have more this sort of activities in the future...

A review what I've learnt from the programme

From this Integrated Ecology and Service Learning Programme, I've gain a lot of knowledge about seashore life; what are seashores, how the sea creatures adapt to the environment, effects of seashore and many more. After I have understand what are seashores, I've started to learn different kinds of animals found on the shores. Of all the different creatures I've learnt, the one which attracts me the most is the ghost crab. The colour of the crab blends so well with the sand that it seems to disappear. However, another sea creature that impressed me is the tubeworm. I am able to see the big change from a young tubeworm to an adult tubeworm.

After going through the programme, I've now understand the negative and positive impact people have on the habitat. Most of us didn't know that when we throw rubbish at the shore, we are actually affecting the life of the creatures found there. And of all the rubbish we had collected, the most type of rubbish we collected were batteries.

Special thanks Grace and Ooyee for giving us alot of information which we didn't know before!

To keep it short, I just LOVE this ecology programme!!! Continue to have this ecology programme =)

Labrador and Pasir Ris Seashores

Labrador and Pasir Ris Seashores

After I went to the seashore, I learnt a lot of thing that I've never had a change to learn. I've learnt what human did which causes destruction to the animal's habitat. We discovered a lot of marine creatures. Some creatures we found are really interesting, for example the sea pen. It looks like a pen. There are many living thing found on the rocks, hermit crabs were found under the rocks. My friend, Zhe Huan, found an interesting creature called sea hare. It turns the water purple when we touch it. After all the fun we had, we had to collect the rubbish found at the seashores. Most of the rubbish are batteries, plastics, glass bottles. They are all left by people who went there to fish or have picnic. They are all inconsiderate people. I was cut by one of the glass. Anyway it doesn't matter as we had a lot of fun. I hope the school will organize more trip to the seashore in the future.

Reflection on the ecology project

Reflection on the ecology project

I am very thankful to the school for conducting this activity. In this activity, I've learnt alot of things about the sea animals and their habits. How they camouflage, catch their prey or run away from predator and some sea animal can poisoned a man with their toxin. I've also learnt that people had been throwing rubbish into the sea and this poor sea animals will die. People have also been taking this sea animals back and put them into quarium to keep as pet.

LABRADOR AND PASIR RIS SEASHORES.* xDD

hellohello.
Before we went to the seashores,it was very much anticipated by loads of
people.espeacially me.
When i went to both of the seashores,i discovered that there were alot of
various types marine animals or even shells. There were hermit crabs in the
holes of rocks and came crawling out when i overturned them.It was quite a
creepy, but yet fascinating.OF COURSE.There were sea plants as well. The one
plant that brought my attention would definitely be the 'yummy' sea
grapes. And yes,i tried to eat it.well...it's not bad but just that there was
not much of a taste.I don't mind trying it again.haha.There was a 'animal'
that my friend zhe huan and his friends found, when i saw it,it was a really
nice image of it and i took many photographs of it.oh well.I forgot its name
but i think it must have been a sea sponge?Iit produces purple water if
'agitated' or 'touched' many times.
Apart from all the living things we saw,we then had to pick up rubbish on
the seashores.There were many batteries,plastics,wood,glass,etc.It was a
sight for sore eyes.SAVE THE SEASHORES PEOPLE!!!
It was about a few kilograms of rubbish that we picked up left by
inconsiderate people.=.=
Last but not least, not to forget the instructors that guided us through the
seashore journey. They are none other than Grace and Ooyee!!!!They have been
a great help to our questions.I also want to give a BIG THANKYOU for their
help. :))
I hope to visit more seashores. :))

ecology programme

From the ecology programme,i learnt a lot of things about the nature. The
positive part and also the negative part.I also learnt scientific words for
the animals like gasthropods, sargassum and a lot more.During the programme,
I also had fun with my fellow classmates,my form teacher,Ms Lo, and also not
to forget the instructors.Ooyee and Grace. They were such a wonderful
innstructors.

At Labrador park,I found out that it is a reserve park! The plants and
different species of animals are taken care of.While I was there,i saw a man
fishing.I was so angry at him.My friend took a picture of him.I saw a lot of
plants and animals there like seagrapes, sargassum, ghost crab and many more.

At Pasir Ris Park,I was very shocked as the sea was so dirty.Me anh my
classmates , helped to clean the beach by picking up the litters. We found a
lot of things like batteries, plastics, tissue papers, and even UNDERWEAR!!!At
the end of the day,we collected of approximately 5 kg of litters.

To wrap it all up,I learnt how to take care of the beach and not to liiter
them.

attract mor people either come to exercise or take photograph. It is
wonderful placeand i like it very much as there are little rubbish.
Pasir Ris beach
In this project,i learnt how the marne creature behaves when they meet
strangers like mudskipper swim very quickly when it meets. There are also
plants which was polluted by the rubbish. The rubbish was tremendously
increase. The rubbish was mostly batteries followed by glass. It had spoiled
the place.
